The Gay and Lesbian Community Centre was incorporated as The GLC Centre
Inc. and has an aim and objectives.

  a.. To provide support, counselling and charitable services for gay men,
lesbians, bisexuals and trangendered people.
  b.. To provide services which encourage gay men, lesbians, bisexuals and
trangendered people to develop a positive self- image as they contribute in both
the gay and wider communities.
  c.. To promote, encourage and maintain productive, harmonious and sensible
interaction between the wider community and ourselves.
  d.. To act as a focus point for activities of a non-secular, non political
nature.
  e.. To obtain property to service the needs of the GLBT community.
  f.. To establish and maintain liaison with organisations which have simular
objectives and disseminate information relevant to this community.
  g.. To organise, promote, sponsor, finance, and administer schemes to provide
assistance to our community.
The GLC Centre currently publishes the monthly newsletter CENTRELINES, the
annual TASMANIAN GAY AND LESBIAN BUSINESS SERVICE DIRECTORY, sponsors the annual
QUEENS BIRTHDAY BALL, stages a variety of other social events, maintains links
with other organisations throughout Tasmania and other states and sponsors
individuals and groups who encourage self-esteem in gay men, lesbians, bisexuals
and trangendered people

Membership is open to anyone, regardless of their sexuality, who agrees to abide
by the Rules of the Association.
